Be Prepared
The 2022 Community Emergency Plan for Residents is now available on the Swallowcliffe Parish Council website:
swallowcliffeparishcouncil.org.uk
This leaflet highlights some of the things every household can do to help them be prepared in the event of an emergency.
Below you will find a quick check list of things you might want to keep to hand to help you be ready. We hope you find it useful.
ACTIONS TO CONSIDER:
Find out if you qualify to become a Priority Services customer for SSEN (0800 294 3259 or online at ssen.co.uk) and Wessex Water (online at wessexwater.co.uk).
If you live near a watercourse know your flood risk and if your risk is high sign up to flood alerts and have flood protection measures in place. The Government website GOV.UK has a section on Flood Maps for Planning which you can search by your postcode to see which flood zone your property is in and you can sign up for flood alerts through the website or register by phone via Floodline 0345 988 1188.
The GOV.UK website also has information on preparing for a flood and the National Flood Forum (nationalfloodforum.org.uk) has useful sections on protecting your property.
With our best wishes,
The Emergency Team, Swallowcliffe P.C
