Swallowcliffe Village Hall is an important resource to the village. It is the venue for many village social events (quizzes, Burns Night, Parish Council meetings, polling station, and various clubs/societies), and is available for private hire (parties, birthdays, wedding receptions, wakes, etc).
The Hall also acts as a refuge for the village in the event of an emergency.
Maintenance of the Hall is funded through hire charges and by village fund raising activities.

CONDITIONS OF HIRE
Deposit:
We request a deposit to cover possible damage, which is returned on completion of the hire after inspection of the hall/ items hired. The amount of the deposit, which is paid in advance with the hire charge, varies dependent upon the items hired and is confirmed at the time of booking.
Payment:

Cleaning:
The Hall should be left clean and tidy after use.
Damage:
The Hirer is liable and will indemnify the Village Hall Committee for the cost of repair for any damage caused by the Hirer to the Village Hall, its equipment or fittings.
Please note that the Village Hall’s insurance prohibits there being any naked flames within the building and this is therefore not permitted.
Electricity:
Electricity for the hall lighting is included in the Hall Hire charges BUT ELECTRICITY FOR THE KITCHEN & HEATING IS PAID FOR BY THE HIRER USING £1 or £2 COINS IN THE METER (heating costs approximately £6 per hour)
ALCOHOL:
A LICENCE TO SELL ALCOHOL MUST BE OBTAINED BY THE HIRER

A LICENCE TO PLAY MUSIC MUST BE OBTAINED BY THE HIRER
